Maintenance
The key to prolonging the life of your spa is periodic maintenance
and cleaning. Just taking a few easy steps on a routine basis
will ensure your Shoreline™ Spa has a long, service-free
life.
Basic Spa Maintenance
One of the most effective ways to keep your spa in first-class
shape is through proper cleaning and maintenance of your filter.
The Shoreline Spa™ collection is equipped with one of
the finest filtering devices available - the Skim/Filter System.
This device is one of the few skimmers available that actually
works along the water's surface. When your spa is in operation
the Skim/Filter bobs up and down along the water level, creating
a whirlpool affect that draws in floating debris of all sizes.
The manufacturer suggests you check the Skim/Filter at least
once a month, replacing it when it becomes loaded with dirt or
debris.
Draining the spa every few months is also highly recommended
for good spa maintenance. To drain your Shoreline Spa, refer
to the "Drain your Spa" section of this Web site.
The beauty of your Shoreline Spa is the ease of ownership. It
doesn't require lots of attention to thrive, and when you do
need some support, your Shoreline Spas™ dealer is a wonderful
resource for helpful information and useful maintenance solutions.
Water Maintenance
Your spa water has a life of its own, and with that comes a
unique set of conditions. Due to the warm temperatures in your
spa, you must properly test and maintain your spa water for health
and appearance reasons. With little effort, however, you can
have clean water and total enjoyment from your Shoreline Spa™.
Your Skim/Filter will go a long way in keeping your water in
prime operating order, but you will also need to incorporate
spa care products into your overall water maintenance routine. Your
Shoreline Spas™ authorized dealer can provide you with the guidance
you need to select the appropriate spa care products to keep
a sparkling clean spa under any conditions.
There are three main components to spa water maintenance - water
filtration, chemical balance/pH control and water sanitation.
Water sanitation is tops on your to-do list, and can be achieved
through the regular addition of a sanitizer approved by your
Shoreline Spas™ dealer. The sanitizer - typically a bromine- or
chlorine-based product - controls the bacteria and algae in the
spa water.
The introduction of the bacteria-fighting products necessitates
that you monitor your water balance. You will have to add products
to maintain proper levels of Total Alkalinity (TA), Calcium Hardness
(CH) and pH. Frequent testing of the water - preferably weekly
- will allow you to maintain the balance and minimize such spa
trouble makers as scale buildup and the corrosion of metals.
Your Shoreline Spas™ authorized dealer can point you toward the
appropriate spa care products. When treating your water, be certain
to follow the spa care product manufacturer's label instructions.
Your Spa Exterior
The Natur∙All™ finish of your Shoreline Spa™ is
designed for maintenance-free use. The only cleaning the outer
surface of your spa should ever need is a quick rinse to remove
any debris that has collected on the surface. In most cases,
water will remove any buildup. If you do encounter a stubborn
spot, lightly wash the area with mild soap and water. Do not
use any chemicals - these may etch the surface.
Your spa cover is constructed of durable materials, but it needs
to be properly cared for as well to ensure long-lasting life.
- Do not sit or stand on the cover.
- Do not let snow build up on your cover.
- Periodically clean the cover as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not drag your cover over rough surfaces.
- Always lift by the handles.
Use the tie down tabs to prevent the wind from lifting the cover
from your outdoor spa. |
